Hazey Jane – “Open”

Combining traditional folk storytelling with arena-sized pop hooks Hazey Jane is an Indie-Folk band based in Hackney, London. Their mesmerizing songs come expertly polished with swooning four-part vocal harmonies adjoined with delicate electric guitar lines. After a solid break-out into the music industry, getting critically acclaimed by some notorious key tastemakers, the quartet is surely set to hit new heights with the release of their new cut “Open”.

Speaking to the band on the track “Each song is truly evocative. Each track a three-minute story carefully and lovingly told, potent with emotion”.

The band started at Secondary School as a duo expanding their arrangements in 2014 since then they excelled into success. In 2016 Hazey Jane received the excellent support of their fans raising £5,000 through a crowdfunding campaign to release their debut EP “Us on A Wire” produced by Marcel Van Limbeek while consecutively booking their inaugural headline tour of the UK, selling out venues across the southeast.

The second EP “Lifeboat” released in 2018 was notoriously supported by BBC Introducing, leading the band to perform at numerous UK Festivals including; The Great Escape, Greenbelt, and Cambridge Folk Festival. Fast forward to 2019 after the release of their last single “Lay Low’ they set upon themselves to sell-out The Old Blue Last in May. Spotify streams hit a staggering 10,000 mark within only 10 days.

Now coming with a new hot track it’s definitely time for the band to rise. “Open” is unapologetic and In its optimism, the song reminds you to ignore the negative that surrounds us to focus on our own internal voice because everybody can be their own source of inspiration.
