Simon Davies is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer from Birmingham, UK who has been building a name in the industry through his musical project called SAER. Live, his band performs a blend of experimental-pop with soul and electronic music.
Davies started his musical journey discovering his father’s esoteric record collection, getting introduced at an early age to iconic vocalists such as Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley. Growing up in this supportive habitat helped him to channel those influences over to his modern-day creating his own electronic soul sound.
The project released its debut single “Shadows” exactly one year ago, produced by David Ezra, which helped to establish SAER as one of Birmingham’s and UK’s most exciting emerging musical talents. The band launched their debut EP titled “Disruptor” two months ago via Spinnup, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group; receiving major validation from BBC Music Introducing in the West Midlands.
“Disruptor is about inner conflict” comments Davies, “A desire to test the boundaries even with a feeling of safety and contentment, imposter syndrome can set in. We have an inherent self-destruct button and it is those closest that suffer. Disruptor is a plea and a warning. We all hope to change but some of us share an underlying gravity to disorder ”
