Releasing a brand new single entitled “I Wish (it didn’t end like this),” Bailey Tomkinson is a singer-songwriter from St Ives in Cornwall and is considered one of the fastest rising artists in the UK Country Music Scene. With a spectacular endorsement from the legendary Brad Paisley on BBC Radio 2 ringing in her ears, Bailey announces a new single and kicks off the 2020 tour including a headline show at the 02 Academy, Islington.
The Journey: Bailey started to write her songs at the age of 15, signing her first publishing deal with German Indie label FBP music at the age of 18, when she began as a live performer, building a strong reputation performing stunning sets, both as a solo acoustic act or with her full band. She had further progression supporting KT Tunstall, earning a prestigious slot at Boardmasters Festival.
Rising in the music industry her last singles reached the top of the UK Country Music iTunes Charts. Bailey draws her musical influences from the likes of Kacey Musgraves, Abba, John Denver, Bruce Springsteen & Taylor Swift. Bailey’s previous single ‘Movie Scene’ has been streamed over 100,000 times and earned placement on the ‘Very Nearly Nashville’ editorial playlist creating a lot of buzz with notorious tastemakers including BBC Radio 2, Regional BBC radio where she has earned her comparisons to early Taylor Swift & Emmylou Harris.
The new cut “I Wish (it didn’t end like this),” represents Tomkinson’s mastery of pop-country hooks and relatable emotional storytelling, as a lover of the 1970‘s and photography, in her spare time, she can be found surfing on Porthmeor Beach in Cornwall.
Chatting to Bailey on the track “Truth be told, I wrote it all in one take sat with my guitar on the bathroom floor, by the time I’d finished I was in tears. I do promise to keep it together when I take it out on the road though!”
